It's worth taking a look on some college websites as they often try to provide students with apprentice schemes whilst they learn. There are a few colleges in the south that specialise in horticulture/agriculture and the like, they can probably talk you through the process/requirements too.
As someone has mentioned, get in touch with a college. Most colleges are now qualified to take one Apprenticeships in either a Work-based (so most work is done on site, earn while you learn) or a college-based apprenticeship (more 'lessons')
I'm currently doing my apprenticeship, and it is a brilliant way to start off your career.
