Anyone know who's selective weed control the largest lawn franchise use.

I have done a search & cannot find the answer.

Whilst I have always had good results from Depitox & Trafalgar tanked mixed I feel I can still improve on results.

There are so many products on the market all claiming to do the job, price of the product is not  the main an issue its results that matter.

Most weed control products should only have 2 applications per year so when a lawn company does 4 feed with weed control per year what are they spraying on lawns that have had previous treatments?

I would be interested to know... Given that I have a feeling alot of the franchises are breaking the law with regard to the amount of herbicides they apply.

If you dont mind me hi-jacking this abit - does anyone know if NVZ (nitrate vunerable zones) apply to gardens... as I know GT apply Nitrogen in excess of what any sane, logical lawn care professional would apply to any ground, often right next to water courses.

I would imagine that they don't spray for weeds on each visit as it wouldn't be cost effective.

...Possibly water...according to an ex-franchise guy I employed years ago.....

I'm sure this was an isolated 'incident' and not indicative of the whole industry. However, it only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel..ask Dan Penteado, Ex BBC Watchdog presenter ;-)

When I worked for them it was Relay and you were told to spot spray and the water is not too far from the truth, we found that after a couple of treatments the lawns were weedfree but if you were not seen to be spraying by some customers they thought they were not getting the full treatment even though there was not a weed in their lawns, so you were advised by the office to spray water so avoid any customers wanting a discount on their treatment.

David, the water would seem to avoid over applying herbicide!

indeed.
