Yup. Passed last year. Next question?

Yes, me too. Would suggest that a good many members have/should have.
If you are towing any trailer over 750kg odds are you will need to do the test....

No need I'm too old therefore don't need one!!!
  • Even though I've happily and safely been pulling trailers for over ten years I still paid up nd passed the test. The law is the law. If we don't play by the rules we will be penalised. I don't necessarily agree with it but I understand why they need to do it and so operate on the correct side of it. Just get it over and done with - a few hundred quid, couple of days. Tick.

You got me worried there Neil so I've just checked my licence and I'm fine as I passed in 94. Which scarily means I've been driving 20 years!!
  • im doing mine in 2 weeks time. £451 for 8-1pm of training then at 2pm the test. similar to driving test only with a trailer.

  • How easy is it to pass?

Makes yer feel old don't it!

Been driving for well over half me life now.....depressing....also when you realise that retiring is closer to your age than leaving school.....even more depressing.....when actually a nice cuppa tea and a good book is more appealing than a trip to the pub! Oh gawd!

I don't think I would like to take driving test again. Probably got too many bad habits!(for what the inspectors want to see I think sensing a problem ahead is more important and that only comes with time.)
Only had 1 bump though that was in 96 I think not long after I passed.
  • It's really easy to pass. For me it was only a case of getting into habit of carrying out specific exaggerated actions particular to the vehicle you are driving so that the examiner sees you doing it. For example, looking over right shoulder before pulling into traffic and rear view mirror(don't do in van cos not got back or rear window to see through!). Examiner didn't even stay to see me finish the hitch/unhitch part as he knew I was only doing it all for legalities sake.
