Thanks Garry, thats the stuff its actually for my own house, digger driver mentioned it today - ive never installed it but if cost is right should help as bit of a showcase for future work
have you installed it yourself on any jobs ?
Is it a boundary wall, retaining wall - how high, wide?
Fence? Gabions? As Gaynor says Kerry's your man for rammed earth or if not high, Gardensurgery does splendid things with sleepers...
Its a retainer wall, grounds pretty compact has been under hedge for maybe 30 yrs.
but want something to protect from weathering. cost is an issue as rest of ground works cost a fortune. area is approx 16m X 0.75 m. Im also looking at timber retainer - waying up options & hopefully use to show own ability.
Thanks for input
That style of 'dry' walling seemed popular and was used a lot by Highways Agency around our area for holding back roadside embankments etc, also seen a larger version used along motorways..
Gary, out of interest, what would the typical footings be like for the example shown in Marshalls picture (ie foundation cross section for two retaining walls in close proximaty ) ?
Just have something like this in my mind for a customer requirement as they want a curved retaining wall
These are pretty common over here in northern ireland. Very easy to put up and not not too dear. Tobermore and acheson glover also do similar products if you have local suppliers for them.
