Hi

I have been asked by the local social services to cut back some hedges and trees that overhang a property, causing a potential health hazard. No problem doing the job, but I was wondering if there is a minimum height for any branches or foliage that overhang into public space. Is there different heights covering the pavement area and roads?
If any one out there has any facts then I would appreciate your advise.
Thank you

Hi Gordon
It might be an idea to ring your local council Environmental Office. They will be able to give you the local gen on what is required.
Hi, As a tree surgeon as well as a horticulturist, on paving areas the lower braches should be 3m from the ground and over highways they should be no lower than the hieght of a double decker bus.
