2 way website linking

Hi All

Are any LJN members looking to strengthen their website position on the search engines?

I'm offering a link to my website in return for direct link back to yours.....there are a few members who are using the linking system....if this proposal is for you then let me know and we can swap details..... Your URL and description will be required.

A two way link refers to a website linking to you and you linking back to it. This is often a result of link exchanges and this is the reason why search engines see two way links as less valuable. If the only reason a link is present on a website is to boost the recipient site’s rankings, there’s little benefit to it. Article exchanges can also result in two way links, but there’s more value in this, since the article is providing the user with some benefit. Since article exchanges generally involve the links being found in context, amongst relevant text, search engines will generally credit these links with more importance than a link in a page full of links.

regards

Kerry

  • I'm up for it Kerry!

  • i would never link my website to anyones, i have worked hard to get my website to the top of page 1 on google, my opinion is that if someone is after linking theirs to yours they are trying to get their website further up the rankings, i have had many emails asking me to do the same, my answer is simply NO

  • Thanks David, I'll contact you tomorrow via Pm

    Thanks Phil Smith,

I too work hard at keeping my site on the first page and top of google dependent on the keywords used, I'm not looking for a free meal ticket via members sites or their hard work, the topic came up on chat and I understand that some members wish to improve their rankings.

    regards

    Kerry

  • its just my opinion, sorry if i offended you.

I'm not the sort of chap that ever gets offended because someone voices their opinion, I believe that your apologies are far from needed.....thanks for being sincere with your views towards unsolicited emails...I too recieve them and adopt the same views as you do towards them.

If you have profile pages set up on the free business directories with your web address on it (not all of them allow you to do this) then you can embedd the link into your website in a discreet place and then this way you are back linking to a stronger SEO. Iv'e done with 3 business index sites. Iv'e only just done it recently so to early to tell if it's helping or not but my site ranks highly anyway.

  • Nice idea Kerry but I am not sure how well it works, perhaps Craig could give us an opinion.

I have set up a website or anyone with a garden open to the public or  garden centre Gardens of Britain to promote their facility, with the opportunity to back link to their site, add pictures video and copy.

  • Kerry,

I can not see why not. I offerd as well before but had very low reasponse.

My linking page is pr2. All I am asking is for a link on a viable place, I can supply articles if prefer.

Me too on first page high for many keywords, I found link out first had a bit of lowered my place but than gone higher. I would prefer not to link to new sites and new pages.  more links you have your chance to get free traffic is higher and when search engine see free traffic you rank higher.

  • Hi Kerry

I have just created a page on my website for such 2-way linking which I intend to populate with informative text, images, videos and LINKS. I will also add a bit about how I know the individual, what we have in common (i.e. a love of SketchUp and the colours black, red and grey!) and what we have jointly been involved in i.e. The LJN Hampton Court Showgarden Competition.

    Awaiting your info :-)

  • Kerry,

I was under the impression that two way links cancelled themselves out as far as Google was concerned? However I may be wrong, I frequently am! (Maybe Mr Voice could shed light on this, he's well versed in the black art that is Google.
