Yes its another Free Listings Thread!!!!!
Though it would be worth mentioning this one for those of you that are on the web promotion trail at the moment or if you have received emails / phones calls from the above. Some may already know this but to those who dont, read on....
If (like me!) you struggle with Bing results (or lack of being on them) Bing have now created a "Local Business Centre" for the UK similar to that of Google. It was previously only for the US at first and UK businesses were not able to list there services or be found on a local mapping system. Rather than letting businesses upload there own information like google, Bing have outsourced the data-collection to 118information who have been tasked with gathering and verifying every entry to ensure quality results.
If you have not already, I would recommend going to www.118information.co.uk and uploading your details (for free). Since doing this I have noticed a slight rise in visits from Bing to our website and I seem to be slowly moving up the rankings.

Thanks for that Trevor.
I was sent a free listing on a local newspaper groups website last week, I checked the details no link to our website and they had us listed as steel fabricators and erectors. I sent them an email to ask where they got our info from and they rang back saying 118, however when they looked at our website said they wouldn't change the catergory we were in unless I bought an enhanced listing.
